Almost weekend
It is so busy at work, but also a lot of fun. I am still amazed that everyone are so friendly! Sara came by the office and got a tour today. It has been very quiet since all sales persons and the marketing dept. is at a fashion fair in Copenhagen - it gave me and my team mate a chance to catch up. It is a strange feeling not to know everything at work, I know what to do but not how in the system... and it is far more complicated version of AS400 than I am used to. Everything we do also have a very informal and intimate feeling, have to get used to that. (and that everyone is extremely cool - and I am not)
Still no apartment in sight, R is working hard though. It is very practical to have a house man, I can tell you. I am just afraid that he will get bored so I hope he finds something he likes to do soon. There has been an ex-colleague from NL in town for a few days so he has had some company.
Dorine, when are you coming? (fun!) Send me an email if you don't want to write about it here. I can't say anything I miss yet, I am still amazed about all the new products that have come up the last 5 years. R doesn't like to go grocery shopping with me now because I have to study all the things on the shelves. There are like 6 different flavoured creme fraiche and 200 different cheeses (just for on the sandwich) and 100 different kinds of bread!! In time I will miss the kroketten, bami blok and stroop waffels, I am sure, but for now I am fine.
Gotta go now, one more day and then some rest...
First day at work
Now I am off to the movies... See ya.
the surroundings

Thursday I got a visit from my friend Anneli that lives in Gävle, very nice. Yesterday and today we have checked out the surroundings and we have just fallen in love with the neighbour hood. Absolutely amazing nature and still so close to the city center. On the picture I am in the future Marinstaden 2 km away from here. They are about to clean up and build apartments along the water which will be ready in 2009, for a bargain price of 800 000 euros.
The weather was good so we are now a bit tanned, better be more tanned for Elin and Ralph's wedding or I will look extremely pale in the dress.
Now I will go for a hot bath to prepare for the big day tomorrow - Eliza's birthday! Haha just kidding, for my first working day of course. Happy birthday Eliza, have a great day!
Wednesday

Today was a nice day! I met Sara and Anna for lunch and when Sara had to leave for work Anna and I went to do some shoe shopping and to have coffee and cookie in Kulturhuset. When Anna went to the train to go back to Gävle (1.5 hours away) I met up with Robert and Magnus that is in town for work. Coffee again and some grocery shopping. Dinner was pizza and then we took care of the laundry. I love to have a tvättstuga (laundry room) again! There are two huge quick laundry machines and drying rooms and everything is dry, done and over with in a few hours. Until R gets a job he will be the house man that does the cooking and laundry (I am jealous since I am getting a bit nervous to start a new job on Monday...).
R will soon start to look for a job. There are a lot of new complicated rules to get used to here regarding the unemployment benefit etc. At least we found out yesterday that he doesn't need to go to the unemployment office anymore since there is anyway no benefit to be paid.
This evening we went out for a walk. Just a hundred meters away from our apartment building there are areas with houses gardens (villa områden) and it is so beautiful with lakes in the surroundings. We saw a mother deer and two baby deers cross the street in front of us to have apples in one of the gardens. Such a beautiful sight.

Installing internet
Finally we are having access to the internet again! It is hard to arrange things when there is no internet so we are happy now when we got it.
Thanks all for your comments!!! It made my day, it is great that you write in Dutch - but then my other readers won't understand :) Franklin, I am sorry for the lost conversations... I have already got my first movie tickets here, it is a preview for a Swedish movie on Monday next week, "Underbar och älskad av alla".
It was a long trip home with the car and the trailer since it was very heavy and we couldn't drive too fast. It was gezellig though with my parents in the car for 3 days (hope you agree Robert). We left on Monday and arrived in Fagerås (Robert's parents summer house) on Thursday. We repacked the most important stuff and left on Sunday for Stockholm. As you can see on the picture there is still some organizing to do...
I have dates with my friends everyday this week, it is great to have them nearby again! I am feeling a bit lost though but I am sure I will find my way here also. I even feel stupid when I am paying with my bank card, all machines are new and today when the cashier asked if I had a code to the card I couldn't even answer since I didn't get what she meant. Oh my, get a grip Charlotte. When I was grocery shopping a guy came and asked for advise for a starter and blablabla... anyway when I went back to my trolley (is that the right word) it was gone!!! I had filled it with lots of vegetables and fruit and it had taken me a long time and it was now gone! I thought that someone must have taken the wrong one by mistake so I went around in the (huge) shop to find it - but it was nowhere! I had put a 5-krona in it and I didn't have another one for a new trolley. I started to think that maybe the guy that asked me for advise was part of the plan of steeling my trolley. I called a friend I was going to meet just to make sure I was not insane or something. However 10 long minutes after I lost it I finally found it back where it was lost - with some extra honey in it. Puh.
Tomorrow I hope there will be some time to be on the beach to the lake that we live next to, the weather is expected to be great. Later we have to go to the bank and do all the practical stuff. I think that there will be time for a concert tomorrow though, Stockholm Pride is going on right now. Titiyo and Marit Bergman is playing, great combination.
Monday next week is my first working day (and Eliza's birthday - not to forget!). I wish I had a little bit more time to stay at home but I am also happy that I have the job seeking behind me.
You'll here from me soon again :)
Hejdå
Let's Move!

It is time! Today we started the moving - or at least the moving of the boxes into the trailer. As the princess in pink that I am you can see here that my contribution is to pose and look pretty :)
After the hard work we enjoyed ourselves at Wagamama (see pic 2). Tomorrow is a new day and then we will load the rest of the boxes and the bags with clothes (many, thanks Mexx) and hopefully we will be able to leave Amsterdam (do I have to already?) in the afternoon/evening. We will make a first stop for the night in Almelo (where my grandmother comes from) so no hurry. No way back now....

My Dad and I eating fantastic Asian food.
