Tuesday

Sorry that I am not placing any pictures here. I am too lazy to move the pictures from the camera to this computer... I will do it soon.
Last week was good and passed by quickly. Saturday we spent a few hours on Robert's work's fitness place. It is available to all employees with families, there is a gym, swimming pool, sauna and solarium. It was great since we were there totally alone. It was also about time to start exercising... my knees are not getting better and I have to run a half marathon or something soon - it would be fun at least. We will go back there tomorrow night.
Saturday night I spent at Anneli's (cousin) place, she is going to do the make up on my wedding so there were some rehearsal required (who can say no to that!? I love being pampered) R and Anneli's boyfriend D came home later after watching an icehockey game and R almost didn't recognise me, I am obviuosly wearing too little make up too seldom... :)
Sunday we went in to the center and had some hot glögg (like gluhwein, but better) under a christmas tree, it was cosy in the cold.
Tomorrow we will go to see an apartment in the neighbourhood, hopefully there will only be us and maybe one more interested so there is a chance to get it. We have only seen 2 pictures but it looks nice and we like the house and the area and the "bewonersvereinigung"  (bostadsrättsföreningen) seem "healthy" and nice with a "relaxation area" with swirlpool and sauna in the basement.
This weekend we are going to Gothenburg to visit R's sister with family, will be great to see their new baby!!
I am also looking forward to Christmas when we have 2 weeks off. I just talked to a friend that will make sure we can go to the family's cottage and bathe in an outside wooden hot tub - I just hope for snow then! It will be great to be outside in the cold in a hot tub with a glass of champagne....

Tuesday

Last Friday me and my colleagues went to Copenhagen for the yearly Christmas party. The hotel/mansion we were staying at was situated next to the crown prince's castle, very beautiful, however we actually first thought we would stay in the castle (always wanting more, you know...) :) We were greated in the room with a bottle of champagne each and a Christmas gift (I-pod)!
We had a great lunch, then a guest speaker (a Danish adventure guy) game to speak about reaching goals. He thought we were a fantastically tight group even though we were from both Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland and it is true, it is like a big family. I am lucky since I could have ended up anywhere. The dinner with entertainment was good and then time a lot of dancing. Fun since I haven't been dancing this much in years.
Next day head ache and a flight home...
Sunday me and R spent checking out apartments. Still nothing to buy unfortunately.
A new sales period has started at work so we are really busy, I also have a small project going on which I hope will not kill me in the end... :)
Yesterday I went to the movies (about time...), we watched "Evening". A lot of stars but little going on, I would say. Very slow movie without a story or message. Beautiful costumes. I would not recommend it.
Furthermore no great news I'm afraid. We just have to believe that next year is the year when everything happens. The ones we love will be healthy/get healthier, we will get married, get a place to live, get a car (oh my, it started well but became a bit material...) and all worries will be gone. Can't wait until next year!

Amsterdam weekend

1. Priya with Akshay
2. Me with Akshay
3. Eating falafel at Maoz
4. 3-course dinner at Ralph's and Elin's place
5. Sunny Amsterdam at Amstel
6. Esra and me at pub Gollem
7. Cool Diesel guy in front of Diesel window :)

The weekend in Amsterdam was great. We got to do almost everything we wanted to. We ate and ate the whole weekend, which is of course our favourite hobby. Here it is folks, the list of food we almost cannot live without: (and that we ate this weekend)
- Dinner at De Griekse Taverna (Hobbemakade, Amsterdam)
- falafel at Maoz (the best one is at Leidsestraat)
- Febo (patat met, bami & kalfsvleeskroket)
- Broodje haring
- Belgium beer and kaasplank at Gollem (pub at Raamsteeg in A'dam)
What we have left for next time:
- All you can eat at Tokyo Cafe, Spui
- Wagamama
- Swirl icecream

It was great meeting you all even though it was very short! I will not have many opportunities to go to Amsterdam next year so we took the chance now.

This week is a short week since I am going to Copenhagen for our yearly company Christmas party on Friday morning. It is dresscode black tie and I am wearing a Mexx (!) dress. Robert is going to Finland to visit friends on Thursday so we are both busy. Today we got a visit from my dad and sister that have been in Madrid to see Sweden play football. Nice to see them since it is a month until next time, when I go home for Christmas. I just hope we have our own apartment by then. We went to see one today, which was gorgeous, but too small and without balcony. So just keep looking...
Now it is bedtime, I am reading Stieg Larsson, have to read a few pages before I go to sleep.
See ya!

Tuesday

I am tired... and it seems difficult to get out of it. Working a lot still.
Now we are part of the bidding on a house. I think it will be too expensive for us but you never know...
This weekend we had a visit from Robert's brother Håkan - I just took it easy and slept a lot. Great, I needed that. On Saturday the guys went out to party and I hooked up with my cousin Anneli. We ended up eating veggies and dip and watching A Princess Diary II (obviously for 12 year olds) and skimming through wedding magazines. Actually just how a Saturday night should be spent if it was always up to me :)
Tomorrow we have a kick off dinner with work and after that we are invited to a restaurant opening. We get a lot of invitations just for working in the right place (last time it was a Björn Borg-party) and I would be partying every week if I went to everything. Now it is not really my thing to party too much (I am getting so old...) but goodie bags are always nice :) I gotta prepare for bed now - and make sure I get some light therapy soon to get rid of the tiredness. There is a cafe here in Stockholm which offers coffe in a white room = combined light therapy = perfect :)
Good night.

Finally....

...Robert har got a job!!!!!! He got his dream job as a sales person at Länsförsäkringar - which is a very big national insurance company. He is going to start with 6 months paid education/training (including law etc.) and after that he will be a top sales man :) He will not start until mid January but they would maybe be able to give him some work already before that. This means that we can buy an apartment! We have already found one that we would like to buy (again in the same street as where we live now). I hope it doesn't got toooo expensive because I am desperate to move now!
Work is getting more relaxed (peppar, peppar) and it is still a lof of fun!
This weekend we met some friends from Finland that was in Stockholm for the weekend. On Friday we had a really nice (huge) dinner at TGI Fridays and an early night. On Saturday we met up again for lunch at Vapiano - nice concept. Saturday was time for girls dinner at Sara's place, we ate and talked until 02.00 so Sunday was lazy.

Karin, it is very beautiful (and personal) what Robert is writing about at the website :) Vill du gifta dig med mig? (the address of the site) of course means Will you marry me? Finally we are getting there!!! It is a lot to have buying a house, buying a car and getting married going on at the same time...

Gotta go for a late walk now in our beautiful neighbourhood (we only have 3 tv channels so there is nothing else to do...).

Saturday again

The weeks are flying by. Last weekend we went to visit R´s parents 300 km from Stockholm. The bus trip was not nice (especially not since the whole bus had to wait for R that was late...) - I am really longing for a car now. R is continuing with his interview and meetings - how many can one have for the same job? I hope it goes well. This week he has been working at D (in my office) almost the whole week with stock-taking. We have been shopping from the old sample collection (which is in the stores now) and now R has been helping counting and packing it in boxes. We have been shopping A LOT and I could have bought so much more...
Right now our 26m2 is exploding with clothes so today is dedicated to cleaning up. Tomorrow we are going to see an apartment in the area - I hope it is something for us! There is not much on offer right now since people are afraid of not getting enough for their place. One colleauge is selling a great apartment in a nice area but is not getting what she wants so the market is insecure right now.
Yesterday we had afterwork in the office with pizza, beer and wine. Very nice. I am so happy to have ended up like this - could have been so different. This morning we were up at 9 and went for a walk in the forest in the sunshine - so great. Gotta continue now!

Saturday

 Bassano, Italy

Today is a hangover day, I haven't had one in ages it feels like (thank God). I woke up at 12 and couldn´t believe I had slept that long, I haven´t slept well since I moved here so it is really good.
The 4 days in Italy were great. The people I met were fun and the food was fantastic. We stayed in a tiny village called Bassano in northern Italy and then we had 20 minutes by car to the head office in Molvena. Felt like going to Voorschoten :) The weather was great the first days so we could sit outside in the evening on the piazza and drink prosecco. I was there to learn a new system so we can leave AS400 (!!) behind, however it has been postponed now (where have I heard that before..?).
When I came home on Thursday I had a terrible head ache but it got better in the evening and I was persuaded to come with Robert to see Cirque du Soleil, Delirium. It was very different from last time we saw them in Amsterdam. This was much bigger scale and more music than acrobatics etc. I liked it a lot though.
Yesterday we had a housewarming party in the office, the theme was Swedish holidays (Christmas, Eastern, Midsummer and Crayfish party) with a lot of food and drinks. I had a good time. I had to call Robert just before the party started since he was supposed to come with my top to wear, and he was late. I called him and was a bit annoyed and stressed him and he just talked about something I should see on the internet. I had packed down my computer due to the party and had to use someone elses computer. He told me the address was www.villdugiftadigmedmig.se .... It was fun and the answer is of course Yes :) I had to call back and say that it of course was alright that he was late haha. Now it is known in the office and everyone thought it was very funny.
Now I will take a bath and later we are invited for dinner at Robert´s cousin´s place. Nice!

CONGRATULATIONS PRIYA

I am so happy to hear that Priya has got a boy!!! This made my weekend great! :)

Saturday night

We are watching Deal or No Deal, actually a bit exciting. Today we went to Ikea and had an relaxed day.
We have found an apartment in the neighbourhood that we are interested in. It will be on display when I am on a plane to Venice so Robert will check it out alone. I love my life with Robert. I just had to write that.
I will be back from Italy (Molvena, where the D head office is) on Thursday. Housewarming party in the office on Friday. Dinner with Roberts cousins + partners on Saturday. Rest on next Sunday!!! The weekend after that I hope we have time to go to Varmland to pick up my clothes that I didn't bring in the first round, it is getting colder and I am missing them. However it might by then be time to go to Gothenburg to visit the new family Eles-member...
Time for cheese plate now. Ciao, C.

Thanks for the postcard!

I got a postcard from Eliza in a snowy Italy - Thanks that was very nice to come home to! :) One week left until my own trip now! I just realized yesterday that it says Charlotte and not Susanne on my (4) flight tickets... got to change it. I really haven't had time to think about it, annoying.
On Friday at work we had an afternoon one our party (all Nordic offices at the same time) with loads of champagne and chocolate cake, the best country party video will win a nice price. Totally crazy! :)
The weekend with Malin was good! She got a pair of D-jeans from me of course :) We have found another object to check out also, again an apartment in the same street as we live, to buy. It would be so great to have a bed room and a full size fridge and freezer and a bed side table and.... Aaaah, frustrating. Robert is going to check out a rental apartment tomorrow also. We are number 27 or so in the queue...My cousin Anneli is also going there, she is number 9.
Now I am going to bed to read, I have been too tired the last 6 weeks so I am looking forward to it. Robert is preparing for his "role play / interview" tomorrow. He is going to sell insurances to a recruitment agency guy - I am happy it is not me and admiring Robert for doing this. He is so deserving a job right now so I hope he will get something he likes soon.

Fuel for life launch

Fuel for life launch

I just have to place the picture here, it is taken by a photographer on he party we had on Saturday. Me and Anna feel like we are part of a movie, haha. The dark girl is Anna that is working in my team.
Tomorrow my sister is coming to stay for the weekend, jippi!

Monday

Monday We are waiting... a few weeks more until Annica, (Robert' s sister) is due.

Time for an update! Work is still work, no less yet.
Thursday last week Robert and I had been together for 7 years. He cooked a delicious dinner and had bought a biskvitårta, which is my favourite cookie! We had a very cosy evening together.
Friday I went out with Sara after work for a beer at Ljunggrens which has gorgeous sushi I noticed. I am obsessed by sushi (like so many other things that one can eat...). Saturday we stood up early to go shopping. It was a successful trip, I got a new mobile phone and 2 pairs of Diesel jeans, Rokket and Brucke and some other nice clothes. I had to go home and sleep a bit before the nights events. I have trouble sleeping every night so I am trying different options at the moment... On Saturday evening I met up with some colleagues at Riche and later we went to the launch party of the new Diesel fragrances. The party was held in the Diesel store which was decorated like a secret "black" club and the music and everything really macthed. It was a cool soft party with a goody bag in the end - of course the new fragrances! :)  Sunday we spent in our small apartment just hanging out and doing the laundry, very nice.
Today work was work again, Monday are always very busy! When I got home dinner was ready, potatoes, meatballs, lingonberry jam for Robert and red beets and pickled augurk for me. I love the pickled red beets! I will bring the same for lunch tomorrow (trying to be a good girl and not spend 8 - 10 euros every day on lunch...).
Rest of the week will be work work and on Friday my susje is coming, jippi!
PS. I am also on the borderline to become an Facebook addict...no no no....

Visit

Great that John got a girl!!!! Big late happy birthday-wish to Bas also... hmmm.
Today I was at work 07.30 (!!!) and didn't leave until 20.00 which was too bad since I was planning to meet Dorine. We meet anyway after that and went for dinner. Since I am a tourist myself in Stockholm it's hard to find the special places but it was fun to meet and talk anyway, she is a really good tourist doing all the things you have to do. Big thank you to you Karin for the glossy magazines :)
This weekend I went to see Europe, it was great fun, I will try to post some pictures when I have more time! Robert is having a 2nd interview for a job tomorrow which is exciting! Today he was working in my office the whole day, helping us cleaning up, taking out a lot of furniture and post a lot of order confirmations, that was fun to have him over and get to know the people I am working with! Tomorrow I will probably get a visit at the office from Dorine!
Gotta sleep now!

Wednesday

Work. That says it all for me right now. Luckily work is fun.
House. That is the second thing in my life right now. We are looking. And looking. We want to buy something but of course we both need a job first. That is possible in a near future I think. Yesterday we went to see an apartment in the same street as we live in, nice but not just like we would like it to be, luckily, since we anyway cannot get a mortgage at this very moment. It is scary to spend 250 000 euros on something. I even think it will be scary to buy a car for 15000 euro. I have to get used to it, everyone else is doing it anyway.
I have got my first "D"-piece-of-clothing, Yes! It is a perfect cool top. I just got to get a few pairs of jeans now...

My weekend

AG och CG

Here is my weekend in pictures. Except for the first one which is from 2 weeks ago. This is my cousin Anneli.
The second picture is from the "fika" after my other cousins "konfirmation".Everything was homemade and absolutely wonderful (even the peaches in the pie was home grown!)
The third picture is my surprised cousin Madeleine that gets a great gift...
The last one speaks for itself :) Kräftskiva!! Crayfish party... too bad I don't have any pics of the small animals...

Eliza, have a great vacation!

Thursday

Thursday Me and the strawberry daquiri, unfortunately I didn't get the picture with Anneli and me.

I have really nothing new to tell anyone today (Karin, the answer is no)... However I just want to let you know that I am part of the baby bet over here. Priya a boy and John a boy too (however I wish you both get a princess in pink).

Wedding (no, not mine)

Charlotte pa brollop  Me, Ralph, Elin and Robert (very late in the evening...)

Another occasion to wear my Mexx-dress!! This weekend we went to Elin and Ralph's beautiful wedding in Yxtaholm (1,5 hour from Stockholm). The couple and the ceremony was perfect and we got inspired... Luckily the weather was also very good! Yesterday we were very tired though and I had to sleep a few hours during the day...

Today Monday was a hectic day at work but this evening Robert had cooked really nice salmon with lime/chili sause which made me very happy - and we had Robert's cousin Erik over for dinner which was also very nice. Tomorrow I will have lunch with Robert and I will leave work early for a visit at the bank. Wednesday I will get a tour and introduction to THE shop - and after that I can really go shopping :) Thursday is quiet and then on Friday I will surprise Robert with something since it is his birthday!! Saturday is my cousin's baptism (dop) and then a crayfish party in the evening. I love to be busy, I really get energy from it and I am not that tired anymore as I used to be. Moving to Sweden was an energy pill! The only black cloud is the "living", should we rent or buy? The only thing people, papers and tv news are talking about right now is the rising house prices. Will it continue or will the bubble burst. In the neighbourhood where we live now and still want to live it is quite expensive even though it is not in the city center, so it is a question ringing constantly in our ears right now. Robert's job search seem to be successful, you will hear more about it soon. For the ones I haven't seen in some time I just want to say that I miss you, but I love the updates that I get! Soon I will get a visit from Dorine also, hope to hear about all the details about everyone (at my ex-work) then! :)

Weekendje!!

Soon weekend, not just yet... It has been a hectic week but a bit more organized than last week. I can see the light at work, so to speak :) Today we got 30 min massage by a professional, next time is in two weeks. Life is great sometimes! Yesterday I went to Farsta where Elin's parents live (she is the one getting married this weekend) while Robert was on the bachelor party. We had real fresh nasi goreng made by Elin's mother in law (soon) - delicious! Tomorrow night mom and dad is coming so I will miss my first after work (seem to be really special) but it starts already at 16 so I will get a preview for next time! This week it is the fashion week here in Stockholm so we have been invited for the big final party - but then I will be in Yxtaholm on a wedding party so I don't mind missing it. Tomorrow morning we have a breakfast meeting (I have heard that the breakfast is great!) - I am starting to get so spoiled! Today Sara came and picked me up after work and we went out for a drink in the sun. Amsterdam life is great but this is also very good!!!

Måndag

Hey ho, I just love the ongoing discussion :) Mostly because I haven't got my first grey hairs yet. Hehe. I would really like to see your gray hair Karin, you are lucky that you are blond which makes it harder to see... Or maybe our dear friends are just making it up - it is hard for me to judge, knowing them. By the way, I think that you will have a boy, Priya.

This weekend was pretty quiet. It has been so hot here and the humidity has been over 90%, it is getting dryer know however. On Saturdy night I went out with my cousin Anneli and her girl friends and had dinner at a teras (Debaser) and we had lovely, gorgeous Strawberry Daquiris. My camera stopped working but I hope I can put a picture here soon from Anneli's camera. After the dinner Robert and Anneli's David joined for some drinks. It was very nice.

Right now I am looking forward to the weekend. On Friday mom and dad is coming to stay the weekend in Stockholm - unfortunataly we will not be here though since we are going one hour southwest to attend Elin&Ralph's wedding!!! It will be amazing and it seems like the weather will be too!

Today I got my first "D"-thing from work - a toilet bag that I am not understanding (gotta start somewhere...)

The office

Kontoret

Thanks for being a regular visitor Priya :)
Here is a picture of me at my desk, nothing too revealing though. Robert came by today and got a tour. It is not ready yet so there are some things missing, e,g, a cupboard/desk where the very exclusive coffee machine will be (behind and not next to my desk). Today was a good day - it actually felt like I am getting to know stuff now!
We walked home after work and saw some hot air balloons, which is a very common sight here in Stockholm. It is beautiful to see sometimes 20 balloons at the same time.
